Despite having booked our trip to Canada and Alaska more than 9 months ago, getting organised still came down to the wire! With a 9 pm departure, we had all day to pack before leaving for the airport around 6pm. And it turned out that we needed the whole day. We took an Uber to the airport and got there with plenty of time to check in enjoy a nice relaxing meal in the lounge.

The flight was very comfortable. We got some sleep, watched some TV, and generally just relaxed. We got into LA at about 6pm, cleared immigration, and headed for the airport hotel. After checking in, we went downstairs for a light dinner. We thought it would be nice to go for a walk but the airport neighbourhood is not that inviting and combined with the fact that it was a bit chilly outside, we did half a lap around the hotel and headed back inside!

We headed off to bed at about 10 pm, hoping to quickly drift off to sleep and adjust to the local time zone. Tomorrow we are going to have to be up early to catch our flight to Vancouver.
