After a very big sleep and a nice breakfast, it was lunchtime before we emerged from the hotel. We hopped into a taxi and left the hotel for Granville Island, a quaint little island that is home to cafes, art galleries, craft shops, and a fresh food market. We spent most of the time in the market, where we were very impressed with the diversity and quality of the local produce. We had a nice lunch of Japanese food in the market.

From Granville Island, we decided to walk to a camera store to get a few items we needed. The walk took us through a more residential part of Vancouver, which was very nice. We spent a bit of time in the camera store before getting a taxi back to the hotel.

Once back at the hotel we reviewed our options. We settled on taking the hop-on hop-off bus that meandered through and around the city. This turned out to be a good idea. We chose to stay on the bus for a full two-hour lap and we noted the areas of interest that warranted a return for a more detailed look.

By the time we got off the bus, it was time for dinner. We ate a light meal in the food court across the road from the hotel and then headed back to the hotel for the evening.

Tomorrow we plan to do more exploring in Vancouver.
