After a wonderful night’s sleep, we headed downstairs to breakfast, where we discussed plans for the day.

We started out with a walk around the hotel grounds and spending some time looking at some of the beautiful artwork on display in the hotel.

We left the hotel around midday, and walked about 10 minutes to the ski area to catch the gondola and take in the views of the area. This gondola connects with the Peak 2 Peak Gondola, which connects Whistler and Blackcomb mountains. The Peak 2 Peak Gondola holds the record for the longest unsupported span (3,024 meters) and highest point above ground (436 meters) for a gondola lift. It is certainly a feat of engineering and the views on the ride between the two mountains were spectacular.

We enjoyed a lovely afternoon exploring around Whistler, before going back to the hotel, where we had a very nice dinner in the hotel’s restaurant.

We have an early start tomorrow to head out and, hopefully, see some bears in the local forest area.
