London and Ford (Buckinghamshire)
We had a good sleep last night and got down to breakfast around 9:30am. We had a lovely breakfast while gazing out at the local London streets and watching the people making their way to work.

By the time we finished breakfast and were ready to get going it was about 11:00am. We hopped in a taxi from the hotel and headed to Islington to meet Christie’s friend Elisa, who was over from Paris for the week. We enjoyed meeting Elisa after having heard so much about her.

From Islington we caught a cab back to the hotel and we then headed to Marylebone Station to catch a train on the Oxford line to meet our friends Simon and Mags (who we first met in South America in November last year). We got off the train at Haddenham & Thame Parkway, where Simon and Mags picked us up and drove us back to their farm in the hamlet of Ford. (They call it a hamlet because it doesn’t have its own church so they say doesn’t qualify to be a town!)
Simon and Mags showed us around their farm, which was absolutely gorgeous. They breed racehorses and eventing horses, and also run sheep and pigs. The facilities were amazing and we loved the walk around the farm to see their operation.
After sitting around and chatting for a while we headed into a nearby village for a lovely dinner at a very cute pub that had just been refurbished. Before we knew it, it was time to head back to the train station to catch the train back to London.

We said goodbye and hopped on the train, which got back into Marylebone a bit before 10:00pm. We jumped in a cab to get back to the hotel and are now about to head to bed.
Tomorrow at lunchtime we are catching the train to Paris, so we’ll probably just have a pretty slow morning before heading off.
