Today we had a slightly later start to the day because we had no pre-drive briefing this morning. We were a bit slow off the mark and didn’t get down to breakfast until about 8:15am, which didn’t leave a lot of time for breakfast before our 8:45am departure to the driving area.

We started the driving today in a nice yellow 911 Carrera S, which we both love. The first exercise of the day was on the figure-eight track, where we refined some of the skills we learned yesterday.

We then had a short break before driving to the garage and swapping into the brand new (still not released) Taycan Turbo S, Porsche’s first all-electric vehicle. The acceleration of the Taycan was incredible and it all felt very futuristic. Its low centre of gravity makes it extremely stable and we had a lot of fun drifting it on the ice.

After lunch we had a group photo and the resumed driving activities. For the first activity after lunch we drove the 911 Carrera S on a square course where we worked on the Scandinavian flick turn. Later in the day we hopped into the Cayman GTS and worked on different drift exercises, finishing up with drifting 360 degrees around a fixed point (which is harder than it appears!).

At the completion of the driving for the day we went inside to get kitted up for a two-hour snowmobile trip through the forest. It was very dark by the time we got going on the snowmobiles and the trip through the forest illuminated only by our headlights was a lot of fun. We reached speeds of 70km/hr, which is pretty quick for a snowmobile in the dark!

Our snowmobile destination was a very cute restaurant in a beautiful little Finnish village. We had an excellent dinner at the restaurant before heading back to the hotel a bit before 10:00pm.

Tomorrow is our last day of the driving course and we have a farewell dinner tomorrow night for the course participants.
