Another early start today. We had breakfast at about 7:30am and were on the bus by 8:15am to head out to the ice driving complex for the last day of our three-day program.

We started today in the Cayman GTS on one of the (many!) handling courses. The track was very slippery and keeping the Cayman out of the walls proved to be very difficult. In fact, Keith had one excursion off the track that required a tow to get the car out of the deep snow (but Andrea managed to avoid disaster!). After the Cayman we hopped back into the 911 Carrera 4S, definitely one of our favourite cars due to its immense grip level. We headed out to another handling course to have fun in the 4S before breaking for lunch.

After a very nice lunch we jumped into the supremely comfortable Panamera GTS. This car wonderfully combines luxury and power with incredible handling, despite its size. We really enjoyed the slalom and drift exercises in the Panamera.

Then, all too quickly, we had to change cars again for our final session of the three days. We finished off in the beautiful yellow 911 Carrera S, which we really loved. The technique for controlling the rear-wheel-drive 911 is a bit different from that required for the all-wheel-drive cars (911 Carrera 4S and Panamera) and the mid-engined Cayman (even though it is also rear-wheel-drive). For the last session we headed to the most difficult and fastest handling track in the complex, where getting the rear-wheel-drive 911 right was difficult but very rewarding. Drifting it through the long bends at high speed was a huge amount of fun.

And then, before we knew it, it was all over.

We hopped back into the bus for the trip back to the hotel, where we had a bit of down-time before a lovely farewell dinner.

The three days here went by in a flash. As well as the driving fun, we’ve also had a lot of fun with the other people in our group, which has really contributed to the overall enjoyment of the program.

Tomorrow we fly back to Helsinki to connect with our flight to London. We are landing late afternoon and looking forward to catching up with our friends Simon and Mags for dinner tomorrow night.
