Today we flew out of Melbourne, bound for Longreach, on our way to Hayman Island, with our friends Peter and Joy. We had a nice flight and got into Longreach late morning, in plenty of time for the guided tour of the Qantas Museum. We enjoyed the tour around Longreach and we learned a lot about the history of Qantas. We then called a taxi to take us into town, where we were staying for the night.
This morning we were up early to get back out to the airport to embark on the next leg of our trip. There is no airport on Hayman Island so we flew into Hamilton Island, and caught a boat across to Hayman Island, where we'll be spending the next few days. We arrived around lunchtime so after checking in we went to one of the poolside restaurants for a nice lunch. We relaxed for the afternoon and headed to the Italian restaurant for dinner.
We slept well last night and all met up again over a very nice breakfast. We didn't do much today other than relax by the pool.
We met pretty early for breakfast this morning so we could get out on a hike before the heat picked up.
After a good night's sleep, we were up early to head to the beach for some water sports. We had a great time on the paddle boards and kayaks. After the fun at the beach we headed back for a lovely breakfast. We spent the rest of the day just relaxing by the pool.
We all met up around 9:30 am and planned the day over a lovely breakfast. We decided that another day by the pool would be nice. We left breakfast and had a very pleasant walk around the resort and back along the beach.
We had to be up and organised this morning, since today was our last day o the island. We enjoyed a lovely breakfast, checked out, and boarded the boat back to Hamilton Island.
