This afternoon we headed to the airport with our friends Peter and Joy to catch a flight to Darwin. We got to the hotel in the evening, checked in, and met downstairs for a drink and a nice dinner. Tomorrow we plan to have a relaxing day, exploring some of Darwin.
Today we had a leisurely start to the day. We enjoyed a nice breakfast in the hotel while discussing our plans for the day. We only made it about 100m from the hotel before we ended up in a gallery of indigenous art.
We were up early this morning to meet downstairs in the lobby for a 7:15 am departure to the train station. After some delays resulting from a bus breakdown and various Covid testing logistics, we eventually made it to the station. Once we boarded the train, we located our cabins, and then all met up in the bar.
Today we were up a bit earlier than we'd normally get up on a holiday! Our cabin attendant work us at around 7:00 am, which was a bit anti-social.
After a good night's sleep (rattling along the tracks, which is quite relaxing!) we were up early for breakfast before our first stop of the day, at Manguri. We hopped onto a waiting bus to take us to the Antakirinja Mutuntjarra Lands, to see the sacred site known as "two dogs".
This morning we woke up as the train was getting close to Adelaide. We got up, packed, and headed to breakfast. After breakfast we just relaxed in our cabins until the train arrived in Adelaide, around mid-morning. We had a car waiting for us at the train station and we proceeded straight to the airport, where we relaxed in the lounge before our flight back to Melbourne. After landing we headed to a nice Italian restaurant in East Melbourne for dinner, and then headed for home after a wonderful trip.
