Today we had a leisurely start to the day. We enjoyed a nice breakfast in the hotel while discussing our plans for the day.

We only made it about 100m from the hotel before we ended up in a gallery of indigenous art. We ended up spending quite a bit of time there, culminating in Peter and Joy buying a very nice piece of art.

We then headed to the Northern Territory Parliament building, which was very interesting. Attached to the parliament building was a great museum that provided a history of darwin. We spent a bit of time in the museum, before ending up in the cafe for a coffee.

We then walked back toward the hotel and somehow ended doing some shopping up in Paspaley!

Even though we hadn’t covered a lot of ground, we decided that there wasn’t much else to see in Darwin so we set our sights on a restaurant for dinner. We found a nice restaurant just near the hotel and enjoyed a lovely dinner.

Tomorrow we’re up early to get to the train station to board The Ghan for a four-day trip down to Adelaide.
