It rained pretty heavily overnight, so it was nice to drift off to sleep last night while listening to the rain hitting the roof. We slept well and were up relatively early this morning. We got to the dining room around 8:30 am and enjoyed a lovely breakfast.

After breakfast we checked out and set off for the three-and-a-half-hour drive to Auckland. We arrived at the airport a bit before 2:00 pm, dropped off the hire car, checked in, and headed for the lounge.

We had a good flight back (notwithstanding a small child running slightly amok) and landed in Melbourne around 6:15 pm. We hopped into Peter and Joy’s car and headed home.

We had a fabulous time but, as always, it’s great to be back home.
