After a good sleep last night we got downstairs mid-morning for a leisurely breakfast.

After breakfast we decided that we’d spend the rest of the morning relaxing in the hotel. We packed our suitcases and headed down to the lobby around midday to check out, hop into an Uber, and make our way to the airport.

We got to the airport in plenty of time. We headed for the lounge but stopped at the Café Du Monde in the terminal for our last beignets before leaving New Orleans.

Our flight to Miami took a little under two hours but with the time zone change, it was about 7:00 pm when we landed in Miami.

We collected our bags and went outside to meet our Uber driver. After some initial confusion, we located our driver and headed to our hotel, The Mandarin Oriental on Brickell Key. The traffic was very heavy so the trip took close to an hour.

When we got to the hotel, we were given a lovely, refreshing green tea made with local goji berries.

We headed up to our room, on the seventh floor with a great view out over the water.

We had already been given some nice chocolate when we checked in but there were more chocolates waiting for us in our room!

We decided to have room service for dinner, since it was now after 9:00 pm and we didn’t feel like going out. While we waited for dinner to arrive, we took in the view of the Miami skyline from our balcony.

We enjoyed a very nice dinner of chicken noodle soup, fettuccine bolognese, and a raspberry and lychee tart.

We’ll soon be heading off to bed. We plan to have a very leisurely day tomorrow. We’ve been to Miami before and there’s not anything we feel we need to see this time. We haven’t had much downtime so far, so we may just relax in the hotel tomorrow instead of going out anywhere.
