The wind was blowing and the swell was up last night. As a result, we had a pretty restless sleep. We ended up getting up around 8:00 am, determined to make it to the juice bar for breakfast (before it closed at 9:30 am). We enjoyed a few nice fresh juices for breakfast.

After breakfast we returned to our room. The swell had not abated; if anything, it had probably picked up a bit.
Keith, in particular, was feeling a bit queasy and broke out the Ondansetron to try to quell the nausea resulting from the on-going pitching and rolling of the ship. We decided to lie down and rest for a while.

Around midday, feeling a little better after a rest, we headed to the Compass Rose restaurant for lunch.

After a nice lunch we headed back to our room, stopping for smoothies that we really didn’t need!

Shortly after enjoying the smoothies, we (especially Keith!) decided that this was not such a great idea on a rolling ship. Consequently, it was back to bed to try to minimise the effects of the ship’s motion. It was around 5:30 pm by the time we surfaced again.

After briefly chatting with our friends, Jeff and Penny, we had a pre-dinner drink with Olivia (the Australian dancer on the ship) and her room-mate, Hannah. We had wanted to take Olivia out for dinner again and this was our last night on the ship. We had a reservation tonight for the two of us at the ship’s most exclusive restaurant, Prime 7. But we couldn’t extend that to include Olivia and Hannah because the ship’s rules don’t allow them to eat there (since it is relatively small and highly sought after by guests). So, we headed to Prime 7 for our 6:30 pm booking and agreed to meet Olivia and Hannah at 7:45 pm so we could take them to Compass Rose for dinner. This, of course, meant that we were committing to two dinners. We thought we might as well go out with a bang!

In the meantime, Olivia and Hannah had to get approval (which is the protocol) to have dinner with us in Compass Rose. So they confirmed with Lucy, the assistance cruise director, that it would be alright for us to take them to dinner. Imagine, then, Lucy’s confusion when she escorted guests into Prime 7 and saw us sitting there, eating dinner! At that point she got back on the phone to Olivia to see if there was some mistake, since she could see us in Prime 7 already having dinner. Olivia then had to explain that we were having two dinners: first, our reserved dinner in Prime 7 and, then, dinner with them a little later. Lucy couldn’t help but come over and have a laugh with us about how we’d ended up committing to two dinners in the same evening!

While enjoying dinner in Prime 7, Keith had been running up and down five flights of stairs between courses to check on the availability of a table in Compass Rose (since we knew that it would be very busy). We were able to secure a table at 7:15 pm but they couldn’t hold it for us because so many people were trying to get in. They did ask why we couldn’t come straight away but it was a bit tricky to explain that we couldn’t take it at 7:15 pm because we still only half-way through dinner upstairs in Prime 7!

We finished dinner in Prime 7 around 7:45 pm and met Olivia and Hannah for another pre-dinner drink in the Stars Lounge on deck 6. Trisha from Compass Rose came down just after 8:00 pm to let us know that she had a table for us with our favourite waiters to look after us. So, we finished our drinks and headed down one deck to Compass Rose for round two!

After a lovely dinner (which was a bit lighter than our first, except for the three desserts!), we loaded Olivia and Hannah up with some supplies (mostly alcohol and chocolate from our room that we still hadn’t consumed) before saying goodnight.

Back in our room, we started packing around 10:30 pm, the time by which our suitcases were already meant to be in the hall for collection by the baggage staff. We finished packing around midnight, just as the staff came down the hall to collect our suitcases.

After a wonderful cruise, tomorrow we are disembarking in Miami and will be flying to New York for a couple of days.
