We set the alarm for 7:30 am this morning, so we could get to breakfast by about 8:30 am. We enjoyed a lovely, leisurely breakfast.

On the way back from breakfast, we detoured via the lion enclosure.

We left our guest house at around 11:00 am and walked back to the main lodge to relax for a while.

Our first scheduled activity of the day was to feed some meerkats. They were surprisingly cute. They happily sat in our laps, eating one of their favourite snacks, fly larvae!

After feeding the meerkats, we went for a walk and enjoyed looking at the animals and just taking in the beautiful surroundings.

At 2:30 pm, we headed to the cheetah enclosure to meet Solo, one of Jamala’s beautiful cheetahs. We were lucky enough to get some time with him. He enjoyed being patted and was quite happy with our company (albeit in the presence of a familiar handler). He had lovely soft fur and was surprisingly docile and affectionate.

After a big day of walking around we headed back to the car for the drive back into town, where we are staying at the QT Hotel for the night. We were feeling pretty lazy by the time we got to the hotel, so we opted for room service for dinner.

Tomorrow we are heading back to Jamala (very early!) to tick off a couple more experiences and the plan is then to drive back to Melbourne.
