We slept pretty well last night and got up around 8:00 am. After getting organised, we went for a walk down the main street of Blackall to get a cup of coffee and some breakfast. The breakfast options were pretty limited so we ended up with a tub of yoghurt and a banana from the supermarket.

At about 9:00 am we headed back to the airport for the flight to Lizard Island, which is located about 1,600 km north of Brisbane at the top of the Great Barrier Reef.

We had a very pleasant flight up to Lizard Island, with a beautiful view of the reef on the way up the coast and on the approach to Lizard Island.

It was just about 12:20 pm when we landed at Lizard Island, where we were greeted by the resort staff, who took care of our luggage and transported us in golf carts to the hotel. The first order of business upon arrival was lunch, which was very enjoyable. We especially enjoyed the very delicious salmon and strawberry entree.

We haven’t thought too much about what we’ll do tomorrow so we’ll just see what the day brings.
