Today is Andrea’s birthday! We have a relaxing day planned around the resort before going to dinner tonight to celebrate.

We started the day with a sleep-in, before heading to the dining room for a very nice breakfast.

We were scheduled to go out on a walk at 10:00 am, but we pushed that back so we could relax over an extra coffee.

We headed out just after 10:30 am for a lovely guided walk from the resort toward the peak of Mount Lofty and then into the Clelland National. We walked for about 90 minutes and then stopped for a cup of tea before being driven back to Sequoia Lodge.

We relaxed at the lodge in the afternoon, before meeting a local apiarist named Brad, who spent 90 minutes with us talking about beekeeping, which was very interesting.

By the time we finished the beekeeping experience, it was time to head to dinner at Mount Lofty House, just a minute’s walk from Sequoia Lodge.

After dinner, we walked back to the room and retired for the evening after a very nice day.

Tomorrow we are driving to the Barossa Valley, where we plan to catch up with dear family friends, Miffy and John, for lunch.
