Even though we weren’t really hungry this morning, we walked across the road for a coffee (tea for Andrea) and some toast with Vegemite. After last night’s amazing meal, it was too early to contemplate anything more substantial than that.

We checked out of the hotel around 11:00 am and said goodbye to Peter and Joy.

We then hopped in the car for the three-and-a-half hour trip home after what has been a fantastic week. We covered about 2,300 kilometres on the trip, a surprising amount of it on relatively minor back roads. On the way home we reflected on the wide array of wildlife that we saw on the trip, which included an echidna, kangaroos, koalas, seals, a huge eagle, emus, and a brown snake (far too close for comfort!).

Now it’s time to look forward to our next trip, which will probably be a short hop (no pun intended) to Kangaroo Island.
