Kangaroo Island
Exploring Kangaroo Island
We were up early this morning to meet for a quick bit of breakfast before heading out for the first of the day’s activities.
We left the lodge around 9 am and headed for the Flinders Chase National Park to observe the fur seals at Admirals Arch.

Our next stop was just a short drive away, at the Cape du Couedic lighthouse. This lighthouse was built between 1906–1909 from 2,000 pieces of local stone.

From the lighthouse, we then drive about 10 minutes east along the coast to the Remarkable Rocks, a very interesting formation of granite boulders. The boulders look like they have been very precariously balanced, but they have actually been shaped by the erosive forces of wind, sea spray and rain over 500 million years.

From The Remarkables, we headed back to the lodge to enjoy some lunch.

By the time we finished a very leisurely lunch, it was time to head out again on our next activity, a coastal clifftop walk around the western side of Hanson Bay.

The walk took around an hour and a half, and was very enjoyable. We got back to the lodge around 4 pm, which left a little bit of time to relax before we headed to dinner.

After enjoying a lovely dinner, we headed off to bed.
