Europe
Geneva to Vitznau
We started the day with a lovely breakfast, just after 9:00 am.

After breakfast, we headed out to solve a small issue: after a few purchases in Italy, France, and Switzerland, we now couldn’t get our suitcases closed! So, we had to go out and find a new suitcase. We surveyed quite a few stores before finally settling on a suitcase that matched the one we bought in Selfridge’s on our last trip when we also had the same problem!
We got back to the room around 1:15 pm and finished packing.

We went downstairs and checked out, after what has been a wonderful stay.

At 2:00 pm, we set off on the 300km trip to Vitznau, on the shoreline of Lake Lucerne. The trip took about three and a half hours, a little longer than we had expected due to a combination of heavy traffic, rain, and a lot of roadworks.
We arrived at the magnificent Park Hotel in Vitznau at about 5:30 pm. It was raining heavily when we arrived, and we were rather shocked by how cold it was when we got out of the car. After the oppressive heat we had endured in Italy every day, Switzerland’s cooler days have been a relief. But we didn’t expect to be cold, which we certainly were when we got out of the car.
After a tour of the hotel, we were shown to our room around 6:00 pm.

We relaxed for a little while in before heading downstairs at 7:00 pm for dinner at Prisma, the hotel’s Japanese restaurant.
We started with a drink (lychee mocktail for Andrea and a blue Negroni for Keith) before enjoying a beautiful meal.

After dinner, we returned to our room and headed off to bed. Tomorrow, we plan on spending the day in Lucerne and, if time and energy permit, we might also head up Mount Rigi to take in the views
