We slept pretty well last night, and were downstairs to breakfast by about 10:00 am. We had breakfast outside again this morning, which was very pleasant.

It was a lovely summer day to take in the grounds of Grantley Hall one last time before we got on the road today.

We left Grantley Hall around midday, bound for Edinburgh. The drive was a little slower than we expected, with quite a bit of traffic on the road. We arrived in Edinburgh at about 4:30 pm, checked into The Kimpton Charlotte Square Hotel, and headed off to return the hire car.

After a short relax in our room, we got organised for dinner, which we had booked downstairs at Aizle. Our friends Peter and Joy had arrived this afternoon in Edinburgh, so dinner was a six-person affair, with Earl and Sue having also travelled up today to Edinburgh.

It was nearly 11:00 pm when we finished dinner. We said goodbye to Earl and Sue, after a wonderful few days together. Tomorrow we’re boarding the Regent Navigator in Leith (the port of Edinburgh) with Peter and Joy, for a nine-night cruise to Oslo.
