Lisbon to Seville
The main activity for today was the drive from Lisbon to Seville, Spain. There was no pressing need to get up and go early, so we didn’t! We ambled downstairs to breakfast a little after 10:00 am. On the way to the breakfast rooms, we passed through the very nice bar.

It was around midday when we departed the hotel. We drove about 100 kilometres southeast before we made a quick stop at a service station in Grândola, just off the A2.

We continued non-stop from Grândola until we arrived in Seville, just after 5:00 pm. We found our hotel, Hotel Alfonso XIII, without any trouble. But finding where to get the car into the hotel to have our bags unloaded was quite another thing. After a lap through a very tight underground car park, followed by a ten-minute lap around the block, we ended up in front of the hotel for a second time, none the wiser. With the car parked in a taxi rank, Andrea went inside to get instructions. Like most things, it’s easy once you know! So, armed with the local knowledge, we drove through an area that looked like a pedestrian-only area to us, and located the driveway into the hotel.
We checked in and headed to our room, which was very nice.

We decided on room service for dinner and, to our delight, we once again had a room service menu that offered Spaghetti Bolognese!

We relaxed in our room for the rest of the evening before heading to bed. Tomorrow, we plan to explore the city of Seville, which looks to be very beautiful.
